Upon graduation from Academy as valedictorian, assigned with acting rank of lieutenant, junior grade on board U.S.S. Endeavour. Patrolled Romulan Neutral Zone in wake of heightened security after the Tomed Incident. Transferred in 2324 as tactical officer to U.S.S. Ghandi during its shakedown cruise. Promoted to lieutenant in 2325 and lieutenant commander in 2327. In 2332, during GhandiΓÇÖs relief work with Bajoran refugees, took command after shipΓÇÖs captainΓÇÖs death during exchange of hostages with Cardassians. Returned Cardassian hostage to Earth for war-crimes trial, at which time she received the Starfleet Citation for Conspicuous Bravery and early promotion to captain in 2333. Transferred to diplomatic mission to Klingon Empire. Served as Starfleet Liaison to Office of Chancellor of the High Council, KΓÇÖmpec. After breakdown of summit negotiations in 2335, requested return to ship duty and assigned to command of U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C. Served with distinction.
